Staff Spotlight - Micah Connor

teacher micah connorI was practically born on the front pew of Faith Bible Chapel 42 years ago. My parents have been intricately involved in ministry as Pastors and Worship Leaders for almost 50 years! I had the privilege to attend Faith Christian High School and be part of the first freshmen class at the Ward Road Campus. The school was a little smaller back then, but the quality education and instruction I received was a solid foundation for college and my career path.

Staff Spotlight - Sarah Lepke

teacher sarah lepkePrior to teaching at Faith, I taught English as a Second Language in Denver Public Schools. One day, in the midst of a very tumultuous school year, I received a text from a friend telling me that there was a position open to teach high school Spanish at Faith Christian High School.  Without ever having stepped foot on the campus, or knowing anything about Christian education (I was public school educated all through my life), I applied, interviewed, and was offered the job.  That was five years ago, and every day I thank God for the blessing of teaching at Faith.

It has been such an awesome experience to be a part of a vibrant and fruitful ministry to young people, seeing the Holy Spirit shape and transform the lives of thousands of students working through faithful teachers, coaches, administrators and staff members alike! I am humbled and privileged to have served with such a faithful and godly staff who passionately love Jesus and the students to whom they minister each day.

SPEECH TEAM – by FCHS student Mikayla Martin

2017speech debate2Anxiety runs high at the state tournament for Speech and Debate. Heritage High School hosts the tournament, providing a labyrinth of hallways for “speechers” to navigate. Faith competitors left early on Friday, January 27, to enjoy Starbucks and Coldstone before driving down to compete. The majority of the team had been infected with a unique strain of sickness. Some of the symptoms included sniffling, hoarse voices, uncontrollable coughing, and perhaps the most odd…bloody noses, all conducive for public speaking. Despite runny noses and sore throats, the Faith speakers and debaters boldly entered rounds to do their very best.

READ-A-THON – by FCES teacher, Jessica Lewis

0127171034a resizedIn this day in age, building an excitement for reading among students can be a daunting task. The wonder that fills the pages of so many books and the simple joy of reading is a mystery for far too many children. For educators, developing a classroom environment where reading is a welcomed challenge, prioritized, and celebrated is hugely important! As a new teacher to Faith, getting to participate in this year’s Read-a-thon was such a joy. I had the privilege of observing for the first time the excitement that this fundraiser builds within the Faith Christian Elementary community.

Staff Spotlight - Amy Blahnik

staff amy blahnikGetting to Faith Christian was a faith adventure in and of itself. My family was going through a difficult time and needed to move to be safe spiritually, physically, and emotionally.  I enrolled my kids in FCMS and FCHS four years ago.  I did not have a job or a place to live.  By faith, God provided contacts and people to live with.  We spent a lot of time in the car in the beginning.
