SPIRIT WEEK The week prior to Homecoming 2017 is a fun filled week at Faith Christian Academy!

We believe that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our lives, and at the elementary school level, our desire is to help lay the necessary foundation for a victorious, pleasing walk with our Lord. It is our joy and honor to be a part of this process and to partner with parents and the family's church to grow and develop the students God brings our way.

At FCES, we have a strong spiritual emphasis with daily prayer, Scripture memorization, relevant Bible curriculum and weekly worship in Chapel.

Our elementary program, ACQUIRING CHARACTER THROUGH SERVICE (A.C.T.S.), gives our students the opportunity to put Biblical character traits into practice.  Each month, a student who exemplifies the monthly character trait participates in a service project to bless our community.

Read-A-Thon Day  in February is an exciting, pajama-wearing day on the elementary campus.  Books come to life as teachers and our high school students read and act out rolls portrayed in books.  Students travelled with Ms. Frizzel on her Magic School Bus to outer space, they climbed through the wardrobe into Narnia, became pirates, experienced a circus and so much more in this incredible day!

Our students have a desire to change the world and share Jesus with others!

ACTS: Each month, Faith Christian Academy focuses on a Biblical character trait.  FCES incorporates that in chapel and daily in the classroom.  Our elementary program, Acquiring Character through Service (A.C.T.S.), gives our students the opportunity to put these character traits into practice.  At the end of each month, a student who exemplifies that character trait is honored during chapel and receives a special certificate.  Those students participate in a service project which, in the past, has included writing notes of encouragement to elected officials, making valentines for a local senior care facility, decorating cards to be given to those who serve in the military, and preparing goodie bags for police officers.

ES students that received the Compassion ACTS award, put together goodie bags for the Jeffco Sherriff Department.

Dear FCA Families,

Earlier this week Lisa Williams came to us asking if she could pray with some of our students for her radio show/podcast devoted to prayer.  We got together a group of our K-5 students to spend some time in prayer for her podcast today on the National Day of Prayer. https://soundcloud.com/life-with-lisa-williams/just-the-kids  Our FCA students are prayer warriors!  They prayed with sweetness, depth, and wisdom.  Our FCA teachers prayed along with them as we listened to their prayer time during our teacher prayer time this morning.  There weren't many dry eyes in the group.  We have the privilege of praying at FCA, and your children are thriving!

After listening to the student prayers early this morning, the word privilege came to mind.  As mentioned in the previous paragraph, we do indeed have the freedom to pray at FCA.  We can pray at the beginning of the day, for our lunch, when we don't feel well, when we have problems, and just because!  It truly is a privilege to be able to go to the throne of our Creator, our Heavenly Father, with confidence because He made us, He loves us, and He died for us!

We are sincerely grateful for your partnership at FCA.  Thanks for choosing a school for your children with Jesus at the center where we can seek Him daily through prayer in all that we do!

Appreciatively, Mrs. Dadra Sears Faith Christian Academy Elementary

USING SIGN LANGUAGE TO SHARE GOD’S LOVE:  From the time Sienna was a tiny girl, she has spoken with her hands.  When she was three years old, Sienna saw a deaf person signing and wanted to sign with her.  Since then, sign language has fascinated her.  In first grade, Sienna began to learn sign language because she wanted to help tell people who are deaf about God.  She says, even though it is hard work, she loves learning sign language because it is beautiful. Sienna had the opportunity at an Elementary Talent Show to worship God using her hands, signing to the song "God's Not Dead" by the News Boys.  She wants to continue learning the language so she can be a light and share God’s love to people who are deaf.  Sienna’s gentleness and humility is highlighted when she begins to worship God with her hands; she glows when she is using the talent that God has created in her.  What a great example from one so young of the beauty of God displayed in us when we allow Him to use our gifts and talents to advance His kingdom.
